"Before covid hit the US in 2020, our dad was thinking of moving to an assisted living facility. My brother and I arranged a tour of a facility in Hickory, but before we could go, the governor put the state of NC in lockdown. Our 94-year-old dad was living by himself, and our brother, who lived close by, took the responsibility of making sure dad was eating well, and was staying healthy. We all took turns checking on him and making meals, getting him to doctor visits and church. My husband noticed an ad about Grace Village being built and making plans to open. We contacted Grace Village and arranged a tour. Dad was impressed by the beautiful campus and the state-of-the-art facility. The location was also a plus because the facility was built on the property where our dad grew up. Dad made the decision to be admitted this past September, and we couldn't be happier at the care and attention he has been given. The staff is excellent and open to any questions or concerns you have, the activities are fun, and the therapy program is excellent. Getting dad back in a social setting has been so good for him. If you are searching to find a comfortable, quiet, beautiful setting for your family member, give Grace Village a call. You won't be disappointed." ~ Mary Puett
